Raw, Vegan, & Gluten Free Holidays & Celebration Books.

Gluten-Free and Vegan Holidays

Every year, from about November until we hit the Christmas holiday, my mom and I have a phone conversation something like "What should I make this year?".  Sometimes it's the "classics" veganized, and other times it's an Indian Feast!  I really thought I was making it too easy making the only requirement be that it needed to be all vegan (easy for them because they are mostly vegan anyhow, although my mom overlooks the korma at their local Indian Joint, and my dad thinks because there is no actual labelling on the kid size candy bars that it "might" be vegan :).
No, I thought, let's throw her a new vegan bone, and say I am gluten free now.  Check out the book above!  Meets all the requirements!  Full disclosure......Anytime something says "sugar" I pretend not to see the word and I just use dates or stevia.  Oil?  I skip it or use just enough to "get by".  Yeah, it's called "aging" and from what I hear it sucks enough already that I don't need to be adding bottled oil to it!  These books cover appetizers, main courses, desserts, and drinks all in one place, so you don't have to go thumbing through your bookshelves for every single "course".

  1. I've got to check out that "Gluten-Free and Vegan Holidays" cookbook...it's hard to find a cookbook for both vegan and gf, sweet! Vegan Holiday Kitchen also looks good, I've used many of Nava Atlas' recipes before. Thanks for the list!

  3. These look great! Thanks for the list. I have these beautiful black walnuts, and I've heard of a raw cookie recipe using them & dried apricots. Ever heard of something like that or know where I can find it?
